Rail Memorabilia

Introduction

The Railway Enthusiasts Society (Ltd.), parent organisation of Rail Europe, and its precursor, the Dalescroft Railfans Club has, for some six decades, designed and produced selected items of interest to assist enthusiasts develop their hobby, originally mainly for distribution and sale at BR Open Days, as well as on the score or more of charter trains the Society organised and operated on the national rail system and preservation lines within England, Scotland and Wales between 1974 and 1985, plus those abroad in Europe since 1989.

In recent years, the demise of British Rail (ways) itself; privatisation and the expansion of intolerance, principally due to the rationalisation of resources, especially 'man' power, but also the expansion of so-called 'health & safety' legislation along with anti-terrorism 'precautions', has allienated the industry against the harmless objectives of the sensible enthusiast and few so-called 'private' operators or infrastructure companies have little enthusiasm for providing such events these days, Open Days, therefore, being few and far between, provide us and others with little incentive to produce newer items that represent the current scene, for past clients.

Fortunately, however, we still have a number of un-sold items available, generally in 'mint' condition, from stocks commissioned by the Society, and unique to ourselves, and many of these are listed and displayed under their generic sub-heading within this section. Other items, sometimes in a 'used' condition, have been acquired from other legitimate sources, as have 'new' books etc. from current publishing houses. End prices for all items are quoted including UK Postage & Packing, even where this is shown separately in the cost. We will be please to post overseas, and give P & P reductions for multiple purchases when requested, for sales both at home and abroad.
